   About the egg
The Egg are a band well known to festival audiences, having played many UK festivals including Glastonbury and The Big Chill as well as Rustlers Valley (South Africa) and also in Holland, Switzerland (Montreux Jazz), France, Turkey and Ibiza. 2007 has taken them further afield to Australia for the Future Music festival (March '07) and to Brazil for the 1200 festival (May '07), also Morocco, Sweden, Czech Republic, Ireland and USA. 2008 saw 3 visits to USA including a 3 week tour and and recently a sold out show in New York City's Highline Ballroom, Large festivals already lined up for 2009 starting in Miami.

The Egg have released 3 albums; the 1st two on China Records 'Albumen' (get it?) in 1996, then 'Travelator' in 1998 and most recently 'Forwards' in 2004 on Squarepeg Records, licensed around the world, including Spectacle Entertainment (neurodisc) in USA

Their first Album 'Albumen' was more strictly dance/post acid jazz, funk/ambient instrumentals, played live, and reflecting the live set. The 2nd album 'Travelator', was more influenced by Big Beat, more heavily club orientated and had more songs. it was produced by Tim Holmes.

Recently the band's third album 'Forwards' has seen a more reflective slower sound, but also in places heavier and rockier than anything before. Also more of a psychedelic warmth holding different eclectic influences together. However, live, the band have kept their full on dance and festival style fully intact, with a full interactive film and video synchronised show with visual created by Todd Graft & Mischa @ www.microchunk.com), Max Hattler, and Maff from the bands own 8 & 16mm films and flash animations (click the orange buttons (bottom left of this page)

Recent reviews suggest they were like 'New Order floating on a cloud' (Observer Music Monthly). BBC music review

Remixes of The Egg have included 'Getting Away With It' remixed by Rollo (Faithless), Fila Brazillia, the Next Men. Early releases on Cup of Tea Records in Bristol (rare vinyl only) include Static Sound System & Monk & Cannatella. More recently, since releases on Squarepeg Records remixes have been by Grand National, Mylo, Tocadisco, Atomic Hooligan, Dusty Kid and Cicada. The Tocadisco remix of Walking Away was already a massive club hit by mid 2006, becoming a key track in the crossover of Electro House into the mainstream. Helped along by its appearance on the Citroen C4 advert, and with the addition of the bootleg vocals of David Guetta's track 'Love Don't Let Me Go', it propelled the new track to No 3 in UK Charts released by Gut Records in August 06. Thank you all for buying it. Check our website www.theegg.org.uk

'FORWARDS Special Edition' is now released with an extra CD, including Tocadisco, David Guetta, Mylo, Atomic Hooligan, Greg Hunter mixes OUT NOW & new songs, CDrom drum machine & movies.

Society is afraid of your wild natures
afraid of your naturalness,
so from the very beginning,
it starts cutting your wings.

And the most dangerous possibility in you
is the possibility of love.

Because if there is love, you can go even against the whole world.

If you know your being, there is no question of becoming.

All that you could have ever imagined to become you already are.

You are gods who have forgotten who they are.

You are emperors who have fallen asleep and are dreaming that they have become beggars.

Now beggars are trying to become emperors,
in dreams they are making great efforts to become emperors,
and all that is needed is to wake up!
You may be the last generation which has be the possibility to rebel.

And if you don't rebel there may be no more chances.

Humanity can be reduced to a robot like existence.

So rebel while there is still time!
