Electric Medicine is a JAM band. We've been around for 25 years and gone through major personell changes. The long lived George on drums, Howie Bressler and the man behind the curtain, Ira have been there for the duration. Howie and Ira are guitarists. The Idea we had was to use soundwaves to repel EVIL away from the planet! WE REALLY BELIEVE THIS!!
Ira has been known to play keyboards, and even some bass but he is known for his outrageous vocals and his "Jerry" style guitar playing. The Idea of repeling EVIL from the planet is also satisfying his Jesus Complex!
Howie is the major guitar player and back bone of the music! Howard has been playing guitar since about 3rd grade, and recently done graduated through the 6th grade, just kidding!! Howie has also started singing more!
Leading the vocal way is a man who has done much for the Chicago scene. Dennis Frederick, the guy did more acid in the '60's than your parents. Yup, the White James Brown himself. He's our Lead Vocalist.
Let me tell you about our drummer George. He's the tall one who keeps the groove going! He has been with the band since the basement. He is "The Freight Train" our band! He contributes many ideas with his wit and humor!
Hi! Just wanted to make sure all my friends know that my new erotic horror novel THE 13TH is now in stores everywhere! I hope you'll check out this debauched and demonic horror ride!
There's even a website devoted just to the book, with an interactive map of the places and characters at www.the13th-horror.com.
Edward Lee called THE 13TH "A double-barreled shotgun blast of macabre entertainment -- an expert amalgamation of grotesquerie, eroticism, mystery, and pitch-black occult horror that no fan of the genre can miss."
And Gary A. Braunbeck said, "John Everson's The 13th is the first out-and-out horror novel in a long while to actually scare the **** out of me while reading it. It's stylish, extremely well-written, filled with richly-drawn characterizations, and boasts a labyrinthine plot worthy of Umberto Eco. Trust me -- this one will fry your nerves and break your heart."
FGC's got two hometown area shows this weekend! Friday is an all ages extravaganza at the House Cafe in Dekalb, and Saturday is a hometown throwdown at the Abbey Pub in Chicago (Ages 18+). Fans that attend both shows can pick up a FREE FGC album of their choice at Saturday's show (just grab the Free Album Coupon at the House Cafe and redeem it at the Abbey Pub)!
In other news, FGC is also excited to announce that the band will be celebrating New Year's Eve 2009 at the Redstone Room in Davenport, IA. Our third New Year's in a row at this incredible venue, we will once again be pulling out all the stops! Stay tuned for more information on this year's theme, advance tickets, and other details.
And finally, don't forget to check out the band's new Video Blog, a weekly series featuring a behind the scenes look at FGC performances and touring. Check out the YouTube playlist for the last few editions, and stay tuned for more in the coming weeks!
