Travis plays drums--well, Joey plays bass, Karl has been w/ us for about 8 months as lead guitarist and Andy pretends to play guitar and sings. We try to be original, and if you don't like us, drink a little more. Thoughts of backwood moonshine stills and the stranger characters we encounter in life come to mind when listening to the 'Shine. Don't assume that we think what we do is some form of high art--we like to call it low un-art. The songs we write are about whatever is going through our minds during the five or ten minutes it takes to write them down. "Our minds" usually refers to Andy's twisted imagination, but occasionally, Joey's equally twisted imagination comes into play. It's supposed to be loud and trashy, so don't complain, we already know.. Influences include highly modified early '80's Japanese motorcycles and the thing-in-itself. If you don't know what that is, throw away your TV as soon as possible and soon thereafter you will begin to understand.
Things we hate:
Drummers who wear gloves
Singers who use wireless headset mics (you know, like the ones the astronauts wear)
Bands who advertise in other bands' comment sections on MySpace
If you are not one of the above, feel free to be our friend--we could really use a few. And BTW, GRAB ONE OF THE EMB GIRLS AT A SHOW & BUY T-SHIRTS AND KOOZIES SO WE CAN FINISH OUR FREAKIN' ALBUM ALREADY!!!!!

Travis is surprisingly normal--but don't worry, we're working on that.
We are getting geared up for the 6th St Smokeout, and it's now less than 3 weeks away!
We'll have plenty of pizza, from the Mellow Mushroom, to take care of your munchies, and we'll also have a psychedellic multimedia light show for your viewing pleasure!!
