The Element was founded in 1998 by Rafael Macedo. They made their debut concert playing with Blind Guardian in Brazil, in a concert for more than 2.000 people, which had a great response from the fans and media.
With such feedback, the band released in 2003 its first demo CD - Climbing Up the Stairs of Mind - which had as the great highlight of the promotional process, a concert with Grave Digger.
During the months of September and October of 2004, the band were in the city of São Paulo to record the CD, which should be released in August of 2005, something that didn't happen due to financial problems of the label. In 2007 The Element was invited to move to USA and start promoting their work overseas.
After some line-up changes the band has finally found the perfect match. Today the band counts with the great musicians Mitch Stewart (Circle II Circle) and Lou Caldarola ( Toxik, Soundscape), besides great other participations from great artists/friends.
The Element is a progressive metal band, which uses their knowledge as work tool, mixing technique, feeling and heaviness in their music. The band’s influences comes from traditional rock, progressive and hard rock, like Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Pink Floyd, Rush, Supertramp, Iron Maiden, Yes, Van Halen, Pantera, Metallica, Dream Theater, Alice In Chains, Symphony X and others. With such diverse knowledge they created their own identity which is presented in the form of The Element .

Greetings and welcome to our friends list, we are proud to have you aboard! I really like your music, your influinces are some of my most favorite bands and who I pattern my own production style after. I personally would like to hear a bit more production in your sound, and less padding on the drums so they ring out for a more live sound. You have great sound and talent worthy of cultivation, you just need a good producer to work with to better refine the sound you already have going.
Keep up the good work guys, you have a great sound and style; what kind of recording equipment did/do you use? Promotions by Storm It's All About The Music!
