Currently, the eloi have been "put out to pasture" as Ben once elegantly put it.
Music is still "a-flowin" out of every single member though!
Matt is bashing drums for a band called "hookerfight" in the sac, roseville area.
Thad is bassing your head off in a number of Nevada city bands like "Casual Fog" and "Them Hills"
Ben is masterminding intricate square wavish guitar work in "The Advantage" and also in the ultimate bro version of "Casual Fog"
I have started a new project for the year two thousand and seven.

It was a very cold, very dark winter one year in Nevada City. Some people in the town began to complain about strange sounds coming from the woods in the middle of the night. There was a "toughest men in town" competition held one morning to elect some stout gentleman to investigate these eerie sounds. Oddly enough, the four men elected "toughest" by the town had exhausted themselves so much in the competition, they had all become injured or sick or even both. The four "second toughest" men in the competition were disqualified for actually being from Auburn, and entering another town's tough contest. The four "third toughest" men, really weren't that tough at all, yet were given the award due to a low turn-out in contestants.
Another contest was held. A contest in the arts of "video games, beer, gadgetry, beards, lack of mysteriousness, work hating, mild complaining, guitaring, "what if" storytelling, batman jokes, and push ups" was held the next morning. The four most qualified men were Bill Kiley, Thaddeus Stoenner, Ben Milner, and Matt Amott.
Bill, Thad, Ben, and Matt all traveled deep into the woods that night to find what was making the sounds. The sounds grew louder and louder as the four men went further into the woods. Eventually the four stumbled upon a very deep, very dark hole. Ben had brought a long length of rope just in case the group stumbled upon any sinister holes, and the other three men kind of wished he hadn't. Down down down the four climbed slowly down the rope. It seemed like, and actually was days before they reached the bottom. Upon reaching the bottom, the sound was almost deafening. It sounded like a mixture of screaming and white noise. The four men crept through the darkness for some time, all the while trying to talk to each other and pretending to understand what each other had said over the deafening sound. Eventually they came to a great wide hall of rock. As the four entered, Matt noticed that there was a cd player in the middle of the room. The horrid sounds poured from the cd player, whose volume was "maxed". A cd case exhibiting a skull and a coffin and a Frankenstein sat on top of the player. Bill picked it up and read the cover aloud "99 Terrifying and Mysterious Halloween Sound effects" . Bill then said "What the fuck?" The cd player was turned off promptly. It was then group turned around to find skeletons covered in dust and spiderwebs and shit holding ancient musical instruments. There was a very large scroll behind the on the wall behind the skeletons that simply said "the eloi" on it. Thad ran over and picked up a very large bass guitar that had been encrusted with jewels and gold. Bill and Ben both picked up a pair of guitars that had a very faint white glow around them. One of the guitars was made of jade, the other of obsidian. Matt ran over to a set of drums that seemed like it had been made completely out of human bones. Upon further inspection, it turns out there was some metal in there though. The four decided to try playing these instruments, and turned on all of the "ye olde" amplifiers. Thad's bass thundered forth, Bill and Ben's guitars seemed to be magically linked into perfect harmony, and Matt's drums blazed with the fury of a thousand suns. It was after a significant jam session that actually strayed away from the traditional "funk" or "stoner metal" that the four finally put down these legendary instruments. To their surprise the skeletons that had been holding the instruments began to move, and walk towards the group. The skeletons began to clap one by one, and seemed to have enjoyed the music. One of the skeletons tried to talk, but not having lungs or a tongue kind of messed that up. Awkwardly, the four tried to make out the skeleton's hand gestures, and eventually it was decided that there was some kind of "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade" type of deal involving the instruments, and that they could not be removed from the cave. Thad made a "penitent man shall pass" joke that went over poorly with the skeletons. Significantly "bummed", the four thanked the skeletons for being "Bone to be wild" and made several other body part puns before starting the long climb back up the rope, and into Nevada City. During the journey back the group of four realised what had to be done. Upon arriving back in town, the group declared themselves to be "the eloi: the bandest band in town" which was soon after shortened to just "the eloi". The eloi began playing small bars, and coffee shops that winter, and the rest is history.
