Those of you that live in the Metro DC area may have had the pleasure of seeing our band The ELs: the revolutionary Hip Hop band at all Guerilla Lounge events, and other surprise and guest appearances around the city...let me introduce the members:
Omar Retnuh – aka: Mr. Hu -- Guitars, vocals, turntablism, producer, emcee...what you need? He got it. Retnuh is also the brainchild behind several musical groups The Remainz, HUYU, and most famously, Urban Ave. 31, where he lent his superior production and songwriting talents to create two neo-soul masterpieces -- The Healing Part 1 & The Healing Part 2, featuring recently signed Jive recording artist Raheem Devaughn.
Zack - also known as Aquaman, aka Slimkat 78 – my man plays the MPC 2000xl like Ramsey Lewis! F@$* with him! Aqua is a pioneer & legend in the DC Hip Hop movement, and has been a huge influence on a great many of the local artists and producers within DC's U Street arts scene, affectionately known as "Black Broadway".
Zo! - Freshly transplanted to DC from the Motor City, Detroit is phenomenal keyboard player, producer, and just an overall bad muf@$a...The self-proclaimed "Musical Architect" is proficient at playing several instruments, and has produced and released several projects of original compositions as well as remixes in his own signature style. Zo! is a major part of the Detroit arts scene, and has worked with many artists, including Little Brother, Slum Village, Platinum Pied Pipers, Sy Smith, and YahZarah. Seriously, this dude can play ANYTHING.
Kush – Master bassist, overall funky soul brother. Shadow member of the group, on some “Now you see him, now you don’t shit…” LOL
