After reflecting on her cast, each woman has molded it into 3-dimensional art. Using one’s own body as a canvas creates dynamic possibilities, and this art doesn’t disappoint. From literal Girl Volcanoes to exquisitely painted pregnant bellies to collages of false breasts, the entries are as varied as the women who made them.

About me: Documentary Sneak Peek Intro
of EP's 1st place award winner KIRSTEN STROUGH
The Embodiment Project
is a unique show presented by a collective of local women that celebrates those who dare to step outside the confines of mass media, unrealistic fashion culture, and the very shells that bind them. The experience of plaster casting bodies touches on many sensitive issues for the women involved, including media representation of women, gender stereotypes, body image, self-esteem, sexuality, and homophobia.
Who I'd like to meet: Women, artists, feminists, circus performers, body lovers, moms, grandmas, daughters, sisters, musicians, dancers, drummers, drag kings, gender benders, and anyone who is into it.

I am honored! And absolutely appreciative to have been a part of your amazing production. I have been moved and in watching and sharing in the embodiment project I feel more alive than I did the day before. I cannot express the beauty that I saw and felt. Thank you each and every one.
