About The End Springs

The End Springs spins six-string patterns like spider webs, all quiet bossa-nova wanderings and neo-Fahey dusty landscapes, spruced with poignant sunrise/sunset delay and subtle sampled naturalism. Total tranquility base. (Not Not Fun Records)

The End Springs is my project of lo-fi recordings, mostly 1st takes & with everything left in. Musical power improvisations that capture the moment.

RELEASE NOTES

Volume I is my first recording as The End Springs. Each ltd edition version of Volume I comes with a fabric insert, which has an amusing saying sewn onto it (each one features a different saying). There are 2 runs both limited to 20 copies. Both runs are now sold out.

Peace Paws is a split cassette (with The Wolf Tracks) which was released by Not Not Fun Records in 2006. It features 7 of the 8 tracks found on Volume I.

Volume II is 5 tunes of racing trains, rough blues & folk dreams. The perfect partner for Volume I.

I produced a special limited edition cdr of my collection of music - "The Return of Things Too Beautiful". There were only 10 copies available & they were only available from Tomentosa Records. Each one featured different tiled packaging & a one-off drawing. The only other place to find this collection (with 2 added bonus tracks) will be via Ruralfaune sometime in the future...

My collection of music entitled "The Cold Dirt Diaries" was released by Centre of Wood. Limited to 50 copies, the collection is on a 3" cdr that is held inside a little handmade diary of six pages with some original drawings by myself...

Split cassette single with Donato Epiro that is out now on Dust Wind Tales. Limited to 60 copies, the single is on a white tape that's held inside a clear handpainted poly case & comes with a small insert. Head over to Dust Wind Tales & pick yourself up a copy...

"There Lies The Electric Reasons" - Reverb Worship (cdr) (RW024)

Usually The End Springs music is acoustic based. On this cdr you get seven new interpretations of songs played in a hazy psychedelic electric style which adds a new twist. The covers are stencilled in fluorescent lime green on purple paper. The cds are also hand stencilled in a matching design. (Reverb Worship)

This is a collection of music I thought would never be released. Seven tunes of electric psychedelic fuzz & featuring the original versions of the 3 tracks found on "The Cold Dirt Diaries" (with slightly different titles). A departure from the usual End Springs sound but still sounding fresh & raw. A big thank you to Roger of Reverb Worship for releasing & believing in the collection.
