"The new Erika DeSocio album is AWESOME! Oh, you haven't heard it yet? Must be because it's not done yet. But those of us who have access to the tracks that are finished and the demos know what you'll know soon enough. EDB is the best thing to come out of Syracuse since- well, salt. Call Hot 107.9 and request Hold On! It's my favorite EDB song and it's getting a lot of airtime lately! REQUEST, REQUEST, REQUEST." - Jason Jaquays-Tarbox
"The Erika DeSocio band is fantastic! Elements of jazz, funk and soul. They could play as The Hotel Syracuse grand ballroom house wedding band or perhaps even a cruise ship lounge act then turn around and host the tonight show. Pros!" - Kevin, Drummer from Brand New Sin
I've been singing for about 8 years and my cd, "Wouldn't You Like To Know," came out in July of 2004. I have already done shows around the central New York area with my band and I want to use myspace to help me make friends and fans around the area and neighboring areas.
I'm very outgoing and I love doing live gigs. There is nothing else I would rather do than play music for the rest of my life. It's my passion in life along with every other real musician. I like to get to know people and if when anyone comes to my shows, I would love to talk after, get to know everyone that gave me their time. Anyone, feel free to email me whenever you like or if you have an event you would like my band to play at, let me know!
My band is extremely talented, I love them all! I would love to make it famous with them cause I feel the most comfortable and I just want them to have everything they deserve. I am a very lucky singer to be backed up by such great guys.
COREY HOBIN is our drummer who was also the head sound engineer on our CD "Wouldn't You Like To Know," which was recorded at Hobin Studios. He is the glue that holds everything together and he knows everything there is to know about sound and what needs to be done at a live show to make it excellent. I am incredibly proud of him and everything he accomplishes. He is the one seen lugging all the sound equipment to and from every show AND the load which is his whole drum kit aswell. I couldnt imagine doing this with anyone else and would never want to. He's the kind of guy that you just have to get to know because he's that magnetic. He dazzles me, period.
TIM REED plays bass and he is one of those hidden gems you only find once in a while. He can pick up anything from a few listens and keeps the bass line rawkin! He is also our newest installment and is just starting to come out of his shell with us and becoming a real outgoing player because he really enjoys it and not to mention the bond between him and Travis is totally obvious and works wonders.
AL CUTRI is the popular one, the man behind the sax and great friend to me now. Actually he heard us at a show and said, "You want a Sax player?" I said, "Sure!" And Al was in. I listened to his playing and hes absolutley great and plays a little bit of everything...not to mention, his family is awesome, his mom makin me a late Easter dinner cause shes Italian...Muah! Reminds me of home!
TRAVIS REED is our magic fingers on the keyboard. Ironically I found him at a wake, wierd I know, but a lucky find none the less. He picked up everything so fast that everyone in the band at rehearsals will just stop playing just to listen to him play his interpretation of the song. He is a very important part of our sound and we are very lucky to have him. "Heeellllooooooo!"
STEVE ALEXANDER is our lead guitarist who is one of the coolest individuals I have ever met. He knows all different songs on guitar at the drop of a name (not to mention can sing all the words too). His girlfriend Jordan is amazing and funny and really fits in our circle well.
As for me, ERIKA DESOCIO, I do the vocals. I wrote all the songs on our cd and I like to think the guys enjoy me as much as I enjoy them. HAHA! They back up my talents and believe in me 200%. We just fit and thats how I like it.
Thanks so much for the Add–and your friendship. We enjoyed your music very much. Thanks for sharing it with all of us. It's a pleasure having you among our friends! We've added two blogs about Umano, plus four more new compositions, making ten on our page. We hope you and your friends visit us and enjoy our music, too. We wake up every morning and play the music of the new MySpace friends who have arrived at our site during the night. It occurred to us that these friends (you are among them) are almost universally positive, whether they be novices or legends, and without regard to their station in life or the country they occupy. Although it's not an original thought, it also occurred to us that we couldn’t hold a verbal conversation with most of these friends, but we have bridged that gap by expressing our art honestly with each other. We all have been filling the world with our music and art, in the hope that our messages of love and human understanding will have an impact on the world at large. What a gift and what an opportunity we have received from this technology!
