"It's clear there is much more complexity this band than what's contained in a three-letter genre category... inspirationally refreshing and stellar!"- Kaffeine Buzz
"The songs sound like they're always on the point of collapse." - Sandman
"Pounding riffs and drumming, along with some very level headed vocals... nice indie riffs before again releasing them with a wall of sound and proceeds.. the Demo does show a lot of promise and creation." - Die shellsuit, Die!
'with a huge noise and at pinpoint accuracy a dead stop, [they] left a trashed stage and a carnage of people all trying realise what had actually happened' - Bandwagon
'samples, laptops, extra stage musicians, percussion, keyboards, synthesizers, slaps, shouts and amazing dance moves' - Bandwagon
The Escape Route have had the pleasure of sharing the stage with the likes of Solanoid, Record Department, Kram, Whoresx3, The Mos Eisley, Tigers, Polly's Medicine, Concentration Champ, Smilex and many more
The Escape Route has four members. They knew from the beginning that they had come face to face with people whose mere personalities were so fascinating that, if they allowed it to do so, it would absorb their whole nature, their whole soul, their very art itself. They covered page after page with wild words of sorrow and wilder words of pain. There is a luxury in self-reproach. When we blame ourselves, we feel that no one else has a right to blame us. It is the confession, not the priest, that gives us absolution. There were moments when they looked on evil simply as a mode through which they could realise their conception of the beautiful. Nowadays most people die of a sort of creeping common sense, and discover when it is too late that the only things one never regrets are one's mistakes.

ABOVE THEM (ponte-carlo indie rock) THE AMISTAD (melodic punk rock from sheff) WOODERSON (s11 rock band with post punk tendencies) OX SCAPULA (jazzy noise from stoke)
Either follow the links above or search "Ever Since The Lake Caught Fire" on iTunes. The song has been played recently by Steve Lamacq on Radio 1 & Tom Robinson on BBC 6 Music.
"Produced by ¡Forward, Russia!'s Tom Woodhead, debut single A Fire Born In Dallas (released on the Pay For The Piano imprint) finds post-hardcore and prog influences welded together to create a sound that is both vulnerable and self-assured. Admittedly, the usual influences of Fugazi and At The Drive-In are worn pretty obviously, but the band are far more than mere copyists.
Ever Since The Lake Caught Fire, it would seem, have more than enough firepower in their sonic arsenal to kick some of the music world's feted young pretenders into touch. " The Metro
