The Traceys are a contemporary acoustic musical group that began performing in the Eugene area in 1989. We have performed extensively at festivals and venues up and down the Willamette Valley, and are excited to be performing again after a 5 year break. Our repertoire includes a wide variety of musical styles that feature the fine three part harmony singing that has become our hallmark. While it’s hard to put a finger on our musical style, our influences include Americana, Folk, Bluegrass, Gospel, Soul, and Blues traditions, and our song selection includes both original and traditional compositions. The songs we select are ones that have meaning to us. We believe that if we sing songs that come from deep in our hearts and our souls, then our music will touch the hearts and the souls of others....and that is what we aim to do.....
As well as air tight vocal harmonies, our group also proudly features the stellar harmonica playing and soulful singing of Michael Tracey. After several years of performing, Michael took a break, returning to the stage just three years ago. Since his return, he has been crowned 2007 Northwest Harmonica Champion, was a featured performer at the Portland Waterfront Blues Festival, and performed at the Willamette Valley Music Festival at the Cuthbert Amphitheater as one of the winners of the New Singer/Songwriter Contest. Michael was also recently awarded the Best Male Blues Vocalist at the blues awards ceremony held by The Rainy Day Blues Society in Eugene. In addition, The Traceys include the fine singing and percussion of Annie Tracey, Larry Tracey on guitar and vocals, and Steve Myers on bass and vocals.
