Skins Episode 6 - featuring The Everydays track
'Welcome To Russia' (5.50 mins)
The Everydays are here! ... and are music's best kept secrets.
They are a real rags to riches story. In the past year the band have gone from playing rural pubs for peanuts, giving out home made CDs to anyone that would take them, to being heard my millions on national TV and radio.
At the start, the best compliment the band were ever to get was 'You'd best be better than the soundcheck', but that was soon to change. After a chance meeting with TV producer Chris Clough, their EP was passed onto execs of Channel Four. They were so blown away by their rawness and power that they gave exclusive rights to record music for the entire series of a then 'up and coming' drama. That drama turned out to be 'Skins' (THE most talked about drama of the year) and the rest is history!
Suddenly Everydays gigs went from pubs to world renowned venues and festivals (Most notably The Cavern Club - home of The Beatles). Over night Myspace and Facebook followings grew from dozens to thousands and rumours of music industry interest started filtering from London. Something was happening
The band's luck only grew. After a storming gig in London, they were spotted by Producer Wilson Scott (creation records - Oasis, Super Furry Animal, Felt). He believed in The Everydays sound so much he produced the band's new EP. Recorded at Fairview studios (Beautiful South, The Paddingtons), it is set for a Christmas release and has already started a bidding war.
Fame may be hot on their heels, but the boys have not forgotten their roots. As a thank you to the people that gave them the confidence to get there, the CD launch will be back in a rural pub. This will be followed by a national tour.
Rest assured, they'll be better than the soundcheck this time...
