THE EX 2009 After 29 years G.W. Sok has decided to call it a day and not sing or tour with us anymore. After a long period of doubt and lengthy discussions he came to the conclusion that he had no longer enough enthusiasm for the complete Ex-undertaking. He wants to spend more time on writing and graphic design. He will continue to participate in Ex activities, one way or another. This year (2009) is the 30th anniversary of the Ex. And after having played 1371 concerts all over the planet, the Ex, sometimes described as 'experimental trance-dance avant-afro-punk improv music', appears again with a completely new program for the coming tour in march. And a new band member! For the coming tour in march (see ‘concerts’) we have invited Zea frontman Arnold de Boer to join us. One of our favourite musicians for many years now. We have worked together on The Ex 25-year Anniversary party 'The Convoy Tour'. Andy and Terrie also played with him last year may in Ethiopia and it worked a treat! Arnold will play samples, beats, guitar, vocals and anything he can get his hands on. Terrie and Andy will continue to explore their baritone guitars which appeared in the last set and Katherina will find some more inventive rhythms and hopefully sing some more beautiful tunes. Without doubt it is going to be an exciting new chapter in the Ex's history!

EX HISTORY
“The Ex started in 1979 and developed over the years into a melting-pot of divergent
musical styles: noise, rock, jazz, improvisation, and ethnic music have been interweaved
under one unique umbrella: ‘Ex-music’. Discordant, highly rhythmic guitars and the rolling, the almost African drumming style and the furious delivery of the often sarcastic lyrics give the music of The Ex its special character.
In 27 years The Ex played 1,250 concerts all over Europe, Northern America and Africa,
and made over 20 CD-albums.
The Ex is continuously in development, and always open for new ideas and collaborations with people of all kinds, people who’s spirit inspires and appeals to the group. Through the years the main principle remained; to make music with heart and soul, out of reach of commercial trends or expectations.
Their motto, still: forward, in every possible direction.”
CONFUSION IS NEXT - NEW RELEASE OUT! "THE GENERATION OF THIS ORDER" AVAILABLE FOR FREE UNDER CREATIVE COMMONS LICENSE ON TRASTIENDA NETLABEL - WWW.TRASTIENDA.ORG
"Confusion Is Next embody everything I look for in musicians; passionate, intelligent and talented; people who perform purely for the joy of performing; and this comes across in the music they produce, a return to the glory days of Alternative Rock [...] Great music should trigger a response from the listener and Confusion Is Next’s song writing possesses this quality" ~ Barry Rogers, LostChildren Netlabel / Loss Of A Child
"CIN have struck a balance between the raw, loud sound that dominated their first two releases and the melodic, dynamic sound that began to appear in "Lost in Dark Days" [...] In just a few years, CIN have matured into a confident band who seem to have a clear vision of exactly where they want to go."

Hi friends! Hope you'll enjoy our sound! Take care and PLEASE Follow that wonderful way! I love your music since .... since I love music, I think. Wishful thoughts from Switzerland!
Why?myspace The addictive antidote for onedimensional hip hop. The ultimate mixture between indie pop, electronics en avanthop!
the Burning hellmyspace Sometimes loud, sometimes quiet, sometimes rock, sometimes roll. Always folk, never anti. Quirky? Maybe. Cute? Never. Combining happy little melodies and depressing Old World fatalism, the music of The Burning Hell is sure to make you smile and want to give up.
We rate this gig stars on the scale of awesomeness!
