With an industry that is becoming increasingly clogged with cookie cutter bands that are “marketable”, is there any real music left? Hailing from West Michigan, The Fabulous is a welcome breath of fresh air. “We just want to write good rock music,” states guitarist and lead vocalist Aj VanBoxel when asked about the musical direction of the band.

This good music can be heard on the band’s latest release “No Paradise”, which was recorded over three weeks in sunny Florida with acclaimed gold record producer James Paul Wisner (Underoath, Paramore, Nevertheless, Dashboard Confessional). “We all learned so much from James during the recording process,” drummer Ben Downer enthused when asked about recording with James. “We had to figure each other out at first but once we clicked, we couldn’t have asked for a better producer.”

“No Paradise” has been picking up steam, topping various local radio charts, receiving emphatic praise from countless internet blogs, as well as being featured in a full page interview spread in Recoil Magazine. The Fabulous has also toured extensively in support of their new record, hitting various major markets throughout the past year.

08’ was a big year for The Fabulous, and they show no signs of slowing down. “If you're in a band, you need to be on the road,” responds Aj when asked about plans for the coming year. “We are very passionate about our music and our positive message of love. We want to reach as many people as possible.”
