We are on the latest fab compilation album from the lovely stolen recordings. As well as our song, Empty Soul, it features fantastic sounds from Artefacts For Space Travel, Tap Tap, Pete & The Pirates, Candy and a whole lot more. It's available here as either a very beautiful cd or a download.

Out now: the debut release from The Factory Owners, a 6 track self-titled E.P. on the 'I Wish I Was Unpopular' label. The CD is available by mail order from the unpop shop and the iwishiwasunpopular website.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Factory Owners E.P. was reviewed in the December/January issue of our favourite magazine (apart from Oink! of course), Plan B - it was described among other things as 'Great British Weird'.

We quite liked that. You can buy Plan B here, as well as in 'normal' shops.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Our song, 'Elephants Mean Death' appeared on a compilation called C06, put together by the nice people at Indie MP3. The compilation can be downloaded here.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Review of 'The Tiger' by the esteemed Alistair Fitchett on tangents:

'...Edinburgh's The Factory Owners are more my flavour though, and I have been playing their recent collection of demos with an ever increasing belief that they could be something quite special. Certainly this track recalls a flavour of Felt with a dash of spectral soft psychedelia. That someone should strive to reclaim the phrase 'the eye of the tiger' from the depths of Survivor and Rocky movies is only a bonus.'

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

More from Mr Fitchett:

'The Edinburgh based group have a splendid, eclectic sound that encapsulates the finest spirit of the early ‘80s sound of young Scotland. Nice.'

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Factory Owners' fun filled website will go live shortly. And you can contact us or join our mailing list here. But please don't write anything too abusive, as our mothers censor all our mail.

Rags & Feathers recently supported a Hawk and a Hacksaw in Glasgow, and rather brilliant they were too. Note perfect folk-pop, kinda like the Handsome Family by way of Fairport Convention.

Ziggy Campbell fronts Edinburgh folktronic popsters FOUND.
His solo performances tread a similar path, but the stripped back set-up helps place more emphasis on intimacy and experimentation, helped by his collection of home-made instruments and vintage loop pedals.

Having already recorded and released two albums this year (Apple Tits for Destuction - which has "a 60s vibe", and Dance, which is "mainly all circuit bent instruments and drums"), and with plans for two more (one abstract war concept album, and one straight forward indie), Les Enfant Bastard could just be the most prolific, if not the most diverse, artist in Scotland just now.

Come down.
