The Faculty was formed at Hampshire College in the fall of 2005. Coming together in the love for music that has a pocket and soul, the trio had a groove and vibe that was instantly apparent. Drawing simply from the love of similar music, the three set up impromptu jams in the winter of 2005, developing a repertoire of original compositions and locking into one another's styles. The beginning of the summer of 2006 saw The Faculty's first go at recording, an EP entitled Socially Conscious Lesbian Beach Party. The fall of 2006 has seen The Faculty reach new heights, playing shows and developing fan bases at colleges, universities, and cities in the northeast. Look for The Faculty in Providence, Western Mass., and anywhere there are true believers in the power of energetic and exciting music. With their new album, Shoob on 91, The Faculty keeps learning, growing, and connecting with the music and the people that truly make it happen.
The Faculty delivers high energy booty shakin' tunes. Gritty funk with a rock edge, the music of The Faculty is always fresh and always danceable. Form a line and prepare to get schooled.
