zack and dave met in the late 80's. dave met tim shortly thereafter. zack met ed under an amusing circumstance known as a dormitory. ed had previously met dave's cousin and they went to a dance, but not until after he grew up in the same house as dave's dad. the four congregated, exchanged some really complicated and super-impressive guitar licks, and agreed to sign a treaty (in blood) which bound its signees, among other things, to do all of the things they swore they never would, even if it meant smiling for the occasional picture or bringing together of palms in a semi-rhythmic fashion. inbetween concocting band bio folklore and reading aloud from such great novels as "the cave of time" and the one about gentleman gatsby, the fairer sex* makes music.
most recently the fairer sex, or "the fairer", or just "the sex", if you're into the whole brevity thing, have been marooned in the south pacific preparing to shoot a music video on a tight (less than a mil) budget for their upcoming single "embroiled in an imbroglio". it's a song about bros, hos, and where to draw the line.

Zack Hart ontmoette David Wetzel aan het einde van de tachtiger jaren. David ontmoette daarna Tim Schapker en Zack ontmoette Ed Epps en dan is er nog Charlie Naramore. Omdat Ed op dit moment vrijwilligerswerk doet bij het Peace Corps, is Brenton Wheeler de nieuwe drummer. The Fairer Sex komt uit Lawrence, Kansas en Dave en Zack begonnen met het schrijven van liedjes, daarna namen ze een ep op voor hun vrienden en daarmee gingen ze voor de lol op zoek naar een platenmaatschappij. Ionik Records reageerde positief en dus begonnen ze met het opnemen van de songs voor hun eerste cd die de titel "Two Can Win" heeft gekregen. De vijf of zes nummers die ik van The Fairer Sex gehoord heb, zijn hele leuke popsongs en dat geldt dus ook voor "Penny", "Nadine" en "Isabelle Flowers".
