| The Faith Stealers played The Boot in St Albans on the day that the smoking ban was enforced, fortunately the band was smoking even if some punters had to stand outside for their fix!
I don't remember hearing a band do such powerful and heart-felt covers of true Mod classics. Their covers of the Small Faces were brilliant and to be honest if you couldn't see the band (which due to sitting behind a pillar I couldn't) you would think that Steve Marriot and the boys were in the pub. My personal favourite was Pinball Wizard that was played hard and fast with all the aggression that Pete Townsend shows when he plays it.
I'll definitely be looking out for their future gigs.

Great Gig, first time we have seen them. The Faith Stealers make a lot of noise for a 3 piece.
Best cover of the night had to be the Small Faces' 'Tin Soldier'. It may have missed the keyboards but none the less shone through for the brilliant tune that it is.
A good mix of covers from all the artists you would expect - Kinks, Who, Jam and some you might not, such as a superb rendering of Billy Bragg's 'A New England'.
Overall a great night. The Faith Stealers know their stuff and know how to play.
Overall a terrible Saturday morning. It was their fault that we ended up having a great time, drinking far too much and over tipping the taxi driver. Thank goodness we didn't start on the Brandy...

I popped in to the Black Horse by chance but lordy these guys are good. As a Jam and Who nutter I couldn't believe my luck, loved the set list and never heard 'Tube Station' or 'Pinball Wizard' sound so fantastic. The sound went from aggressive in yer face 'Teenage Kicks' to more mellow stuff like 'New England' and the singer went solo on 'English Rose'... class!
The unique Britishness of the band (no fake American accents here) was how the mod sound was meant to be heard and the small venue added to the electric atmosphere.
Can't wait for the next one - don't know about Faith Stealers, these guys renewed my faith!

Well done to Sean, who had not played with the guys for a while, who travelled a long way to do this gig and who played an absolute blinder! This was one of the most enjoyable gigs in a long time. The guys were all relaxed and going for it and the pub could not have been more packed. Although a small venue, which narrows in the middle, people still kept trying to pile down to the front to see the guys.
A great many loyal fans were there and the band certainly gave them a night to remember. I am looking forward to the next gig and the one after that. In fact, I'm looking forward to a busy gig filled summer!
I highly recommend The Faith Stealers to anyone. Their set appeals to people of all ages, proven time and time again with packed audiences ranging from youngsters to our more mature groovers (who probably remember the first time round!). They were all there at The Robin Hood, folks aged from 18 - 70+, all up and strutting their stuff regardless! It's great to watch and be a part of this kind of gig.
How many other bands have such a wide appeal, I wonder?
