Matthias C. Labus operates the charleston machine and drinks red wine with coke although everyone says it’s disgusting. Andreas sings a lot and fidgets with microphones, cables and his delay stomp-box, which can be a pain in the neck. Stefan Stark delivers hot guitar action and finally bought a new amp - it was about time, the old rig was merely a piece of crap. Thomas Sch. Scheuering takes care of the low frequencies, is nominated as best stand-in ever, mixes a damn good Vodka-Multi, craves a smoke even if he doesn’t smoke at all and thinks exclamation marks are "dämlich". Daniel W. Gehret is way gone.

THE FALCON FIVE formed as kind of a power trio without a name back in 2005. After showing his amazing singing skills at a rehearsal, Andreas joined a few months later to roughhouse the microphone. Henceforth, the band was called THE FALCON FIVE – well, you do the math. First show was in November 2005 at Nuremburg’s Endzeit Festival. All dressed up in blue denim, the Würzburgers stoked quite a few people and set off a huge knife fight afterwards. Fortunately, no one got hurt all that badly.
Featuring members of überdoomers OMEGA MASSIF and Bad Bocklet’s very own SHOKEI, THE FALCON FIVE neither deliver a downtuned drone mayhem nor spastic “emo” songs which change from 3/4 to 5/8 meter every twenty seconds. They are rather into a straightforward rhythm with a dancy twist. Imagine WIPERS, ABBA and infamous krautsters ASH RA TEMPEL munching away on cotton candy at the local fairground and you got the idea. Well, at least the very basic idea. With lyrics tackling subjects like evil robots, huge magnets and white rabbits, they are far away from the preaching-to-the-converted which got all too usual in modern hardcore – actually, they are far away from modern hardcore per se.
Dishing out six groovy tunes, their debut EP “We are falcon and you don’t” will be released in June 2007 by Kiel’s quality label Narshardaa (home of MENEGUAR, RAPIDER THAN HORSEPOWER and Freiburg’s finest, KIDS EXPLODE, among others) and Dresden's Altin Village (home of JAPANTHER, PETETHEPIRATESQUID and, well, Freiburg's finest, KIDS EXPLODE). Andre, Narshardaa’s Don Corleone, said the songs remind him of LES SAVY FAV and that it’d be the perfect record for the summer. Mind you, dear Don, these tracks where done in a fierce February's cold! He also said “Leckomio!”, which is a great german word to express excitement. Speaking of excitement: The six songs were mastered by the same guy who did the sound for SIDO (!!!), FLER (!!!) and JEANETTE BIEDERMANN (!!!). Leckomio!

Eigentlich sollte man zu Milemarker nicht viel Infos schreiben müssen: Post-Alles Klassiker die auf fünf Lang- und noch mehr Kurzspielern ein Genre nachhaltig bis entscheidend geprägt haben. „Sauausgecheckter“ Post-HC (oderso) mit viel Melodie, verzerrten Gitarren und elektronischem Krims-Krams der sich einer endgültigen Genrezuordnung entzieht.

Parts and Labor (Brooklyn, NY/US)
Für mich waren Parts and Labor das Konzert 2007. Deshalb große Freude auf meiner Seite dieser Bombe von Liveband nur ein knappes halbes Jahr später nocheinmal beiwohnen zu können Das Trio ist zum Quartett gewachsen und hat mit Sarah Lipstate Verstärkung an der Gitarre und am elektronischen Krimskrams bekommen. Ergo: noch fetterer Sound, noch mehr nervenzehrender Krach und ohrenbetäubender Noise a la Lightning Bolt oder The Pope.
Ibsen (Viele Städte)
Ibsen zuzuhören macht Spaß. So schlicht könnte eine Info klingen, was aber a) nicht reicht und b) auch bedeuten könnte: Mehr als Spaß gibt es bei Ibsen nicht. Dabei hat das Trio neben einem „Hauch von Party-Attitude“ auch das Gefühl dafür, wie man aus der klassischen Rockbesetzung erweitert um Elektronisches eine sehr eigenständige, abwechslungsreiche und ein bisschen verfrickelte Form von Postrock strickt.

Les Trucs sind einE PhantomIn, kommen scheinbar nirgendwoher und machen eigentlich nur Musik. Mehr muss man wahrscheinlich auch gar nicht wissen. Es gibt verschrobenen Synthiepunk-Punk der genauso anstrengend wie gut ist. file under: Gtuk, Antitainment, Latah Movement
Mit traumwandlerischer Sicherheit stricken Gregor Samsa Klangwelten von faszinierender Schönheit: sensibel arrangiertes Instrumentarium um Klavier und Streicher, begleitet von spärlichem Schlagzeug, dazwischen fügen sich die verstörend schönen Stimmen weniger als Gesang denn als Ergänzung des Arrangements. Das klingt fragil und episch gleichzeitig, riskiert immer die Grenze zum Kitsch zu überschreiten und tut es doch nie.
