.. .. ........ Hailing from Dallas, TX, The Family Business is an invigorating alternative/acoustic band that occasionally dabbles in other genres that have influenced them musically—mainly pop punk. The Family Business was formed in late 2008 after Sophomore University of Texas at Dallas students Kevin Tydlacka and Andrew Pham decided that they “had no reason not to.”.. Andrew and Kevin met each other in their freshman year, but didn’t start making music together until they were sophomores. “We both knew the other wrote and played original music but we would always just kind of tip our hat to the other and hit the books again,” Kevin said, “but then one day we were sitting in my room jamming and we said, ‘hey we both play on our own for fun, why don’t we throw in together and see what happens?’ And so we practiced for a couple of months and when finals and Christmas break rolled around, we recorded our EP in my bedroom studio—which we like to call The Lab—and finished it up at my house with my brother, Thomas, on drums for Win Win.”.. Fast forward…just a month…and you’ll find that they’ve taken their music and ran with it. Check out their facebook, MySpace, and purevolume pages for constant updates on events and the band, or grab some coffee and head over to their YouTube page to watch them play some of their tunes in Kevin’s room. Or better yet, grab your friends and go catch one of their entertaining and polished performances live and in 3-d at your favorite nook or venue. They've even added 2 new flavors, in the form of Garret Linscombe on bass, and Thomas Tydlacka on drums, for your enjoyment! You will find this dashing duo/quartet playing all around the Dallas area, and—if you’re lucky— outside your window. In the freezing rain. Hailing from Dallas, TX, The Family Business is an invigorating
alternative/acoustic band that occasionally dabbles in other genres that have
influenced them musically—mainly pop punk. The Family Business was formed
