"Musically influenced by American roots from the 50s to the 70s...Whilst the rootsy sound is drawn from three decades, the vibe is late 60s, laid back and reflective, Bonzo Dog meets Mama Cass".
~TONY FOSTER of bh one
"...A mix of folk, blues, Beatles style and whatever else that mixing pot needs to make a fantastic bunch of songs...A brilliant range of styles bringing the audience from laughter to deep introspection...Their sound is full and lively, as is their performance".
~FRANKIE MILNER of Sirius
"They are quirky, amusing and look cool. All of which is great, but would amount to nothing if the songs weren’t great. Thankfully they are!"
~FAREN SHORT, a Fan
The Family Buzzard hatched onto the music scene in the bleak midwinter of 2005. Their plan is to ruffle a few feathers with an eclectic mix of skiffle, country and folk - all encased in pop sensibilities.

Squuaaaaaaak! Prior to the official release of The Sables LP 'South Southern Angel', their latest EP 'Neptune River' has once again been picked up by Radcliffe & Maconie. The title track of their first EP, 'Baby You Don't Know' was voted as Record of the Week by listeners to the Radio 2 show earlier this year. Now 'The Blue Light' is again in contention for that honour, being played this Thursday (the show runs from 8pm), and listeners will be able to choose their fave single by visiting the show's website and registering their vote. If you dig the tune and fancy voting, here's a handy link :)
"Sounds like wind blowing in a wheatfield, train rolling down the line, rain coming down on a old tin shed, steel, wire and a rusty heart. Boots of leather and dust and ash. Mollasess and coal and stone. Wedding rings and buried bones of love broken and burnt. Tales and the footprints, ravenswings and souls are earnt"
