Brad Weeks; vocals, harmonica.

Ash Weeks; vocals, guitar, banjo.

Influencesthe beatles, dylan, beach boys, the byrds, pink floyd, the kinks, gram parsons, the charlatans, dolly parton, lennon, emmy lou harris, ray charles, johnny cash, buddy holly, eddie cochran, bo diddly, the stones, the doors, the who, the small faces, the faces, rod stewart, hank williams, oasis, woody guthrie, crosby, stills and nash, canned heat, velvet underground, neil young, billy the kid, acid, whiskey, gunslingers, whores, good times, whiskey, david bowie, the bees, luke donovan, jerry lee lewis, elvis presley, whiskey, good times, fast women, slow cars, scooters, hay, barns, wagon wheels, gypsy caravans, farm folk, big sunglasses, seagulls, poker, whiskey, good times, wooden saloons, stone roses, dance floors, whores and swinging doors, happy mondays, yee-haw, moonshine, jesse james, john james, and the river james, honky tonk, the stands, lewis carol, and the lord that is alcoholic brew...
Sounds LikeWe say: "Swaggering, Bourbon-drenched, Cosmic Country for bow-legged women"

Others say:

"The whole set swaggered and bubbled under the surface like a moody Clint Eastwood. The band were tight. The sound of the slide guitar held everything together expertly and even the introduction of a violin did not make the stage feel over-crowded...", mINTSOUTH, April 2007.

"...not some mafia-affiliated gang but a pedal steel-totin' bunch of southern rockers, and when we say southern, we mean Tooting, not Tucson.", The Guardian , June 2007.

"The Family sound unbelievably polished for an unsigned band, with deeply instrumental, layered tracks.... ‘Bow Legged Woman’ blends the sounds of Primal Scream, Oasis and Seventies rock’n’roll to perfection. To hear this live, with the husky vocals, raucous guitars, and Dylan inspired harmonica, must be brilliant.... It’s great to see some different music coming out of Southampton, aside from the usual copycat bands that we keep seeing.", Penny Lane, NME, November 2007

Hmm well I'm extremely new to this whole gig stuff so I'm not the right person to ask about that! But I do know that there would be LOADS of venues and promoters who'd be interested in you - you fit into the Brighton culture and ethos very well! You're also a FAB band!

Let me know if you find anywhere down here! I'll keep an eye out for things too

Caitlin :)

For what its worth i thoroughly enjoyed your set.

This month we have Regina Spektor with the theme to the film Prince Caspian (but don’t let that put you off, it is really rather wonderful), Mermaid Skeletons with a great song that’s worth it for the chorus alone, the Agnostic Mountain Gospel Choir, who are as good as their name if not more so and finally the legendary Chip Taylor with the thought-provoking Former American Soldier.
Great listening, and if you like the tracks, buy the albums!

Good evening! I'll be starting a tour in the UK next week, and wanted to let you know. You may have heard my guitar playing and not even realized it was me. I played with Buddy Holly, and when you listen to "It's So Easy" or "Heartbeat"...well, that is me. We will play some of the Buddy Holly songs that i played on so many years ago, and a few more! I might even sing a couple. I hope you can make one of the dates? Best, Tommy Allsup
