About me: The Family exists to promote awareness of the issues confronting lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender students, faculty, and staff of UAA and the community at large. It is primarily a safe meeting place and social organization, but it also provides information and education, support and referral, and engages in political action, lobbying, and social reform. Membership is open to all sexual orientations and gender identities.
Who I'd like to meet: Gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and straight supporters of love and equality between human beings.

'DAY OF SILENCE, April 18, 2007: The Day of Silence is an annual event held to bring attention to anti-LGBT bullying, harassment and discrimination in schools. Students and teachers nationwide will observe the day in silence to echo the silence that LGBT and ally students face everyday. In it's 11th year, the Day of Silence is one of the largest student-led actions in the country.'
The quote above was from the website's mission statement. I didn't know if anyone knew about this, or if it was going to be brought up.
You're a great group of people, thanks for the support. :)
Help defeat the April 3rd Advisory vote by voting NO! If it passes it could deny and take away health care benefits from Alaskan workers and their partners simply because they are gay.
