Sounds Like
not simple and clean mixed with hostile dense freindly assault
Joe and I have played together since highschool, in quite a few different outfits. lower case i was the first REAL band, I guess, from about 1991 to the end of '92. Based in Grand Rapids Michigan, it included Jason Jonker on guitar and voice and Eric Pennock on guitars. The big shot local bands took a liking to us and most of our gigs were opening slots for The Space Brothers and Mustard Plug, both still around, and must see! Bahkahtah was next, from early '93 to late '93. This one started as an experimental four track cassete release launched as an effort creative survival. We picked up Bill Wolf; a long lost high school buddy, to reinterpret those songs on Fender Rhodes, along with Teal Garrells with her voice (!) and guitar. This marks our descent into Jazz. In 1995 Donnie Briggs formed the Buffalonians with us to do a bunch of cool material from the 50's. Jason's first encounter with the upright bass left him blistered and bloody, but it was good schooling!
Since then, we've been mostly a recording entity: think borrowed four track and radio shack mikes. Various talented and genreous freinds appear and reappear on everything we've done, but essentially we're the core of the far look.
