"The Fast Forwards expresses loads of self-confidence, they own the stage already before the first chord is played and they treat us in the audience as if we were standing on Ullevi Stadium. Very refreshing. They sound unbelievably good and very tight."
-Mattias Skeppstedt, Groove Magazine (Sweden)
"Stockholm based band The Fast Forwards write infectious rift laden tunes determined to lodge in your brain at the first listen in the same way that the best elements of The Strokes and Oasis have."
-NetSounds (Scotland)
"The Fast Forwards energetic 60s-influed music with strong choruses is a natural continuation on what began with The Who, continued with The Jam and what in Sweden is represented by Mando Diao."
-Webfinanser.com (Sweden)
"Imagine The Beatles forming in a garage in 2007. They'd probably sound like The Fast Forwards"
-FightClub (Sweden)
"The Fast Forwards are from Stockholm, the Venice of the north. Their sound is similar to other great bands hailing from Sweden like Mando Diao and like Mando Diaos influences like The Beatles and Stones. The Fast Forwards recently released new excellent songs like "The More I Drink", and "Noone Left". Check them out!"
-Salatblatt Magazine Online 5 2008 (Germany)
"Sing-along-friendly indie pop/rock with strong choruses is provided by the Stockholm-four piece The Fast Forwards. They're aiming to sound sparkling and fresh and has definitely got it right"
The Fast Forwards>> has been around for a bit more than two years.
During this period they've played at some of Sweden's biggest festivals (Peace&Love, Arvika, Kilafors Rockweekend), in London, Vienna and pretty much every club venue worth visiting in Sweden. Their sound has been said to remind of both new and old bands (The Clash, Arctic Monkeys, The Beatles, to name a few) but with an energetic, unique twist both live and in the studio (captured by producer Thomas Rusiak).
2007: Brothers Gabriel and Christian Alares decide to form a new band, inspired by 60's til' present British pop and rock bands. They hire guitarist Mikael Hörnaeus and bass player Johannes Lindberg (now in Ida Maria), with the ambition to write really strong songs and break big without having to struggle for years at sub par venues in the underground indie scene of Stockholm.
The first four tunes are written and later recorded at a studio in Södermalm, Stockholm. Scottish internet radio station NetSounds quickly hear the songs on Myspace and start playing their demos on a regular basis. The band instantly begins making a name for them selves online without ever having played a single live show.
2008: Signs with their first management and Sony Ericsson wants a song featured in their upcoming mobile phone. The song “Don’t Let Go” is chosen.
A time consuming change of bass player and struggles with said management keeps the band from really flourishing. Mikael and Gabriel start writing more songs together, adding originality to The Fast Forwards >> sound. The band plays their first shows abroad in London.
2009: After winning a national music contest, Festival bookers start gaining interest, and the band play some of the biggest festivals in Sweden (Peace & Love, and Arvika to name a few).
“As You Were” is also chosen by a Russian extreme sport company to be featured in their latest movie. Famous producer/emerged artist Thomas Rusiak calls and offers his services, and they start working on their debut album. They also put on a beloved show in legendary venue Chelsea, Vienna.
