About The Fast Track (In The June/July Issue of AMP Mag)
There are a few classic situations that can cause a band to cease like an ’82 Buick in the desert: a Yoko Ono-like girlfriend, major money problems, or band members going their separate ways to college.
Fortunately for rock ‘n’ roll, guitarist Phil Petersen and vocalist Jordan Lyga continued writing songs instead of pawning their gear after the demise of their first small town Wisconsin band. A new home base in Minneapolis proved quite beneficial; prominent local bands and members in the bigger city gave the guys the necessary nudging to spread their wings and fly.
After making a demo with Tommy Rehbein (Small Towns Burn A Little Slower; Rise/Triple Crown Records) and Steve Henningsgard (Everest, Nehemiah; Uprising Records), it wasn’t long before their full line-up came into place. Jordan’s memorable melodies and unique voice led the way whilst guitarist Victor Wright’s leads ebbed and flowed perfectly with Phil’s steady, anchoring rhythm guitar. And Frankie Blydenburgh, with his history in heavy music, pushed the songs forward with a strong backbeat and hard hitting drumming. Powerful bass lines provide the backdrop to it all, courtesy of bassist Josh McGuire.
With their sound more refined and finally taking on the life of a fully realized band, The Fast Track caught the ear of former Animal Chin & The Stereo (Fueled By Ramen) frontman turned producer Jamie Woolford (The Format, Gin Blossoms, Punchline). The end result is their debut 5-song self-released EP entitled, “The Life & Death of the Party,” which is a raw breath of fresh air when compared to the synthetic auto-everything recordings being released by their contemporaries.
With the new EP, a full-time touring schedule planned, and a love for playing rock and roll exceeding all other things in life, the sky’s the limit for The Fast Track.
"The Fast Track fuses gorgeous pop sensibilities with a darker, much more emotional side many bands like them lack completely. This is just the beginning of something much bigger, just give these guys time to bloom and they'll give you a sunflower."

“With their debut, Jamie Woolford produced EP, entitled “The Life and Death of the Party” The Fast Track showcase anthemic pop-rock songs that are quickly vaulting the band towards the top of Minnesota's “buzz bands” list. Definitely keep an eye on these guys.”
