   About The F Bombers

"I had the privelage of seeing (and opening for) the F Bombers when they came to town here in Rapid City with The Hudson Falcons. The first thing I noticed as they were setting up was the old 50s style microphone that Kim would later be singing through. "Now that's classy" I thought. And The F Bombers truly are a class act. I wasn't actually aware of them taking to the stage due largely to my inebriated state, but as the first chords were struck and exploded through the crude PA I became transfixed. I slid my beer across to my buddy and said "Watch this... I gotta go slam dance." And away I went. The F bombers are like a weird drug. The more you get, the more you want. They're like cocaine for the ears, and after 3 or 4 songs, I was wishing that they'd go on all night. I ran around the pit with my fist in the air, wishing I knew all they lyrics... Wishing I were part of the band. They're live show is captivating. Clay beats on his bass with all the fury of a thousand busted knuckles and working class pride. Kevin whips the kinds into a wild circular frenzy with his beats like he's throwing fresh meat to hungry sharks. Kim's guitar comes through with the angry intensity of a broken heart while her voice cuts through it all with a luscious intensity... the back up vocals creating a choir like effect that makes the hair on the back of your neck stand up. They don't just play for the crowd, they play to the crowd. They get right in your face, not only through their sound, but through their style on stage. It's impossible not to be moved by these guys. Even if you were to try and not like them, you would find yourself unconsciously tapping your foot or your fingers to their melodies. Before their set was even over, I stumbled to the merch table to pick up one of their CDs and shirts. Their CD didn't leave the CD player in my car for 5 straight days. I memorized all the lyrics to the choruses I only wish I could have sang along with the night I saw them. I listened to the solos and thought about how my own soloing would stack up theirs. I intently listened to every word that they sang, thinking "Geez... I wish I had come up with that line." I'm amazed at how fresh their album sounds every time I listen to it. And what's even more amazing is how well it (the album) it conveys their sound. Listening to "Whiskey And Cheap Wine" in my car, I was brought back to their live performance, Kim announcing they were going to 'slow things down a bit'... It sounded exactly the same. It had the same charge, the same gusto and electricity they had when they played it 5 feet in front of me. I couldn't get over how well their sound was delivered 'on wax'. Songs like "We're Not Going Anywhere" had me nodding my head and nearly pumping my fist as I drove along like it did the night I had witnessed them live. The F Bombers make me wish I lived in Jersey so I could see them all the time. It's safe to say that if I were in their local area I would easily become an F Bombers groupie. Those who've ever been lucky enough to catch these guys will tell you the same thing that I've said. And those who've only heard them are missing out on a truly great experience. One that I won't soon forget. I look forward to hearing more music out of this band, as I can tell that their fan base is only going to continue to grow in strides along with their popularity. And if I ever get the chance to see these guys again, well, this time at least I'll have all their lyrics memorized so I can sing along with them. WI Keith " THANKS KEITH!!! :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: F-Bombers had a slow start due to some flighty members , but after Kim and Clay met in Florida (while both on tour, Kim with the Bombers and Clay with Lower Class Brats) they forged an alliance based on a common love for and commitment to Rock 'n' Roll and decided to invest some serious hard fucking work to making the very best of what little they had. Clay left his job and his home and headed to NYC where he and Kim holed up for the month of June and plotted a course of action. With a show booked for July 7th (with Inspecter 7, Darkbuster, Wretched Ones...) creeping ever closer, the search for another member was becoming frantic. But good luck was waiting just around the corner. At a Stormwatch show at the Court Tavern, good buddy Guiseppe Mancini from Inspecter 7 introduced the bewildered (and highly intoxicated) pair to Saul who turned out to be what they were looking for. He learned the entire set and the F-Bombers first show with the new line up (kim=guitar/vocals, Saul=bass, Clay=drums) went over without a hitch. Clay left only hours after the show to fulfill his obligations to his other band the Lower Class Brats and left to tour the rest of the summer. The bombers went on hiatus. Saul went to work with his other projects, and Kim began a venture in the screen printing buisness. She started her own company, Murder Ink Aparrel. The F-Bombers did not return to the practice space until September. By this time the band was ready for yet another line-up change. Clay was ready to pick up the bass so the search for a new drummer began. A little over a week went by before fortune smiled on the group yet again. A hard hitting drummer (and chemical engineer!) Kevin, was invited to sit in with the band. He instantly picked up what the band was putting down and the F-Bombers had a new drummer without having to place one ad. The trio then teamed up with master mixer Paul Logus to lay down the tracks that the bombers had been cooking up. At a local studio in Long Branch (Word Of Mouth Recording Studio) friend Charlie Shaffer allowed the band to take it over for 2 days straight. The Bombers recorded the record live and Paul achieved the live sound and driving raw intensity of the F Bombers. They would then later finish the record titled Pledge Allegiance in NYC with Logus. Almost immediately, the Bombers embarked on a 2 month tour, with the 4th member of the band the White Whale better known as their tour bus. Booking the entire U.S. with help of some friends. The tour was a success, and gave the F Bombers just a taste of what lies in store for them. And that is how it stands today. The band works constantly, be it practicing, recording, booking shows or printing their own merch. The band is a self-contained entity staying true to the original DIY ethic which brought them all together in the first place. For the love of music. :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: SUPPORT A CHARITY!!!

I agree with the person below VVVVVVV
There's a bit of a Distillers influence,
but your voice has a more smooth sound than Brody's,
and the songs are uniquely put together....

Two thumbs up :D
