with…
The ZX Spectrum: electronic percussion, 1993–1994
Stephen McDonnell: played the drums, 1994–1995
Wee Michael Staley: attended to additional submixing, drumachinery and FX, during our gigs of 2000
InfluencesThe Feline Dream were indeed influential in their day, being the primary cause of both the Romo and Electroclash revivals, and moreover directly responsible for the creation of such genres as 'Nu-Metal', 'Mashcore', 'Emo', 'Trance' and 'Chicks on Speed'.
Their achievements stetched far beyond the narrow sphere of 'pop music', as they played a key role in the development of new prosthetic limb technologies, bo-tox therapy, the rise of call centres, and the sordid cocaine addiction of James Nesbitt.
They also turned many of the adolescent population of Belfast into gays.
Sounds Like"Subjected the West End of Glasgow to a torrent of acoustic abuse that could only be likened to the sound of a theremin being brutally raped by a Vandergraaf machine"—Michael Harrison, professional sound engineer
"Exciting, like the thrill of gambling"—Ronan Yakuza, rock star
"Polemic, provocative, and ironic. They like to cause a stir, to make a scene"—Strikesparks fanzine of Befarce
"Bulbous analogue synth workout with hints at very early Human League, Cabaret Voltaire and The Normal, topped by a strident, semi-gothic female vocal"—Nightshift fanzine of Oxford
"An emotive, soulful depth, a distinctive grain of the voice…genuinely touching"—Jenniferlovewabsnazm
"Completely entertaining. Very little to do with lame 80s synth duos (or Ladytron for that matter) and a lot more in common with punk, the first four Eno albums and The Fall—Slowthrills fanzine

   About The Feline Dream
From the war-torn hills and agricultural depravity of County Down, NornIrond—1973 to be exact—came two young men, Nick and David. On a mission to make music, armed with analogue electronics and bits of wood, their songs swerving from idiotic electropunk to the most delicate of ambient snuggles.
They ran away to live in Brighton by the sea, in a whirld of crayons, cats, vodka and hair-straightening tongs, forging wild discourse by ultraviolet light.
On the 14th of December 2003, the band entered a state of bleedin demise and ceased to be. However their complete and utter back-catalogue remains available to buy from Corruptive Records, and as digital downloads from iTunesUK.

Hi The Feline Dream, thanks for continuing to be a friend of Electroflex.

Some important news!

Electroflex have been back in the studio following a break from gigging and recording with new track ‘Computer Virus’.

This is the first of a series of new releases for 2009, and what better day to start on than Liz’s Birthday!

‘Computer Virus’ is a live favourite.  Anyone forced to work with computers will know how evil they are and this track is Electroflex’s response to Kraftwerk’s ‘Its More Fun to Compute’.  It is a bouncy number with a serious bassline, sing-along chorus and a selection of curious samples.

The track will only be up on Myspace in full for a short time.  Alternatively, visit our
Facebook
and iLike pages where you can add the song to you playlists

All the best

Jacob and Liz.

Hi there!
Check out my brand new song, a electronic-new wave/art-rock one titled “The Cyborg”!
And don’t miss the previous ones:
“Last Night At Chrysalis Hotel”, an instrumental spacesynth track full of colourful melodic solos and harmonies;
"Just Illusion", kind of a baroque jazzy-pop tune with sax, some classical piano/strings influences and my usual mickkarnian "fretless frenzy" trademark!
"The World Is On Fire", which has got some Duran Duran's,Alphaville's,Classix Nouveaux's, The Associates', Wim Mertens', B-Movie's and The Killers' touches, I think!
Then the psychedelic-postpunk/symphonic-powermetal trashy tune"Formerly Known As The King" - somehow inspired by Muse and Sonata Arctica - and the jazzy-eastern-prog ballad "Nothing To Believe In",whose arrangement owes much to the likes of David Bowie, Arcadia, Masami Tsuchiya, Japan, David Sylvian, Mick Karn, Dolphin Brothers, Nine Horses, Furniture, The Associates, Billy Mackenzie, Metro, Scott Walker, Eyeless in Gaza,The Cure, Erik Satie, Eberhard Weber, Arrakeen, Bertrand Betsch...) and let me know what you think!
Hope you enjoy my music!
cheers from Rome
