    I have a ton of interests! I love watching my daughter grow into such a beautiful little girl. I love to see and feel her passions and I love learning from her in every aspect of our lives. I love political history, GLTB history, GLTB community - in every form and fashion. I really love to learn about politics and I LOVE to debate political aspects. Wonder which one's I love to debate more than others...huh?

  • Music

    I LOVE all aspects of music. I played the piano - religiously - from the age of six to the age of seventeen. I miss playing, but simply don't have the time anymore! I'm not as fond of rap as I am others, but all types of music is tolerated. I love music because it allows for such a release or emotions! I love Dave Matthews, Melissa Etheridge, Beth Hart, the Indigo Girls, Josh Groban, Vanessa Carlton, Avril, Kelly Clarkson, Fantasia, John Mayer, Rascal Flats, Carrie Underwood, Pink, Alanis Morissette, Tracy Champan, KT Tunstall, Norah Jones, Tori Amos, Heart - as you can see - I love all kinds of music! I cannot go a single day without plugging in my iPod and listening to tunes. Thankfully I work from home so I can have my music as loud as I want it. :) ..

  • Movies

    I used to be a huge movie fan - of all genres. As of late, I have no time for movies. If I can't see it on DVD, in several intervals, I won't watch it. I have become more interested in documentaries though. I love to try to understand why people feel so strongly about subjects that don't interest me. I've learned that if I try to understand new things I just may learn something that will be a huge impact in my life. :)

  • Television

    Unfortunately, I'm a reality show junkie. I love reality tv. I'm more interested in the reality shows that have a possibility of teaching something though - I'm not really into the stupid ones. I like any type of home decorating/renovating shows. I love Extreme Makeover: Home Edition also because I can see people that deserve more actually get something out of life. I also LOVE Law and Order shows. I'm very interested in making law become an integrated part of my life, so anything that I can take from these shows and incorporate into my studies is a plus! Seriously though, who has time to sit and actually watch a full night of TV? Not me! Thankfully, our DVR hold a LOT! :)

  • Books

    If it's not school related, I don't really have time to read. I do read a lot of magazines. Love Curve, The Advocate and magazines like that. :) I love to read about my community. :)

  • Heroes

    My daughter is my hero. Hands down - she's the one I strive to be more like every day. What a beautiful person she's turning out to be. Greta, my wonderful life partner is also my hero. She puts Mady and me first - ALWAYS. Mady and I are so very blessed. :)

About me:

About me, huh? Well - I'm pretty much an open book, but I'll explain a bit about me just for the hell of it. I'm a 34-year old, mom of a beautiful 11 (going on 21)year old little girl. I have an AMAZING girlfriend (of going on six years) that I am absolutely and emphatically in love with. I have worked for the same company for over ten years and I graduated from Kaplan University with my A.S. in Paralegal Studies in June of 2006, my B.S. in Paralegal Studies in July 2008, and am working on my MBA (projected graduation in July 2010). I have very few, very close friends and I like it that way. I value my friends with all of my heart and try to do everything in my power to let them know just how much they mean to me. I am looking for some new friends in Melbourne and the surrounding area! We moved here about two years ago and have experienced some really great times, and some of the absolute worst times of our lives. Other than my family, friends, work and education, my other passion is fighting for equal rights for the GLBT community. I try to get involved as much as I can in this fight and can only hope that I will live to see our country allow the GLBT community to participate in the rights that are given to every other American. :-D On June 29, 2005, Spain was the fourth nation to legalize same sex marriage. On June 30, 2005, Prime Minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero offered an amazing speech. My favorite quote of his speech is, "We are not legislating, honorable members, for a far away and unknown people. We are extending the opportunity for happiness to our neighbors, co-workers, friends, and our families: at the same time, we are making a more decent society, because a decent society is one that does not humiliate its members." How powerful are those words? If only the land of the free and the home of the brave could recognize the importance of his words. Who I'd like to meet:

I'd love to meet anyone that shares our interests - especially GLBT members of the community that has children! We are really interested in meeting some new people in the area that we can hang out with! We love to cook out, have game nights, movie nights, etc. We're not really into the whole bar scene anymore - guess we're too old. LOL

    Funny you should ask. Even funnier that I have been on your mind. Well I was admitted to the hospital last week with chest pains and abdominal pain. Found out through a scope that I have a hiatal hernia, several ulcers, and some lesions that were abnormal. So they biopsied those and as soon as I know the answers I will let you know. So I am depressed and nauseated all the time.
