The FiF was created in December 2005 by founding members Pietro Smedley and Steve Boursiquot (aka Awthentik). The origins of the name lie in the 5th Amendment of the Constitution in that, "by pleading 'the fif,' we let the music speak for itself." It wasn't long before this philosophy began to pay dividends and The FiF took the DC underground music scene by storm.
Certainly not your typical band, The FiF incorporates a potent mixture of different musical elements ranging from rock, jazz, and funk to hip hop and soul. Take that, throw in Awthentik's compelling lyricism and commanding stage presence, and what you get is a truly unique and powerful musical experience unlike any other in this region.
