THE FINEDON SESSIONS present quarterly acoustic roots concerts at the Finedon Community Centre, a superb venue situated in the town of Finedon, Northants. They are held on the first Fridays in February, May, August and November, and feature top name acts from the world of folk, blues and roots, plus supports from the cream of the region's acoustic talent.
Finedon Community Centre is a converted methodist church, and the first floor concert hall, with its high wood vaulted ceiling, excellent acoustics and atmosphere, is recognised as one of the finest in the east midlands for acoustic music.
The concerts are organised by the Kontra Roots Club (top of Friends below) in association with the Modest Music Group (www.themodestmusicgroup.com) and the Finedon Community Centre committee. Tickets are very modestly priced, usually at £5, and can either be bought on the door or pre-booked by phoning 01933 398377 (also for enquiries).
Refreshments, including real ales from the local Potbelly Brewery, are available during the evening, and concerts start at 8.00. Doors are open from 7.30. Finedon Community Centre is on the Wellingborough Road, Finedon, Northants NN9 5LG.
Performers should note that due to the very limited number of support slots available, these are by invitation only. The Kontra Roots Club, however, does offer showcase slots to acoustic roots acts of genuine quality, and will be happy to hear from you. Myspace Layouts at Pimp-My-Profile.com / Black & Blue
