   About The Fire Escapes
The Fire Escapes bring velocity and variation to the teenage nation. The band members hail from the North-East and North-West of England by way of Japan, the Isle Of Man and Ireland. Picked earlier this year to headline Club Fandango's prestigious 8th Birthday Party as hottest emerging UK talent on the back of some blistering live performances and gorgeous early singles. "Four boys and one velvet-toned girl vocalist who play otherworldly melodic pop with a frazzled guitar noise and a classic psyched-out nous" SIMON WILLIAMS, FIERCE PANDA "What I liked most about of the band is that girl's voice is a mixture of Hope Sandoval (Mazzy Star), Tanya Donelly (Belly & Throwing Muses) and Isabel Monteiro (Drugstore). Listen to "Street of Crocodiles" and "Helicopter Blues" to feel the climate. The Sonic Youth Sister phase dominates in "Breaking Into Your Heart" and mainly in "Fire Bird." BIFF BANG POP!

I'm honored, thanks! Always been a fan of deep droning, heavy grinding, and sharp twanging; with a lilting air of gay abandon. Beautifully listenable. Fine voice, Ms. Pullin! Sure, one cannot escape reference and influence, but, I think you sound mostly like The Fire Escapes. It does not escape me that you credit almost everyone's real 13th Floor Elevators roots - my first favorite band when I was 19, long ago, back in the Stoned Age.
