THANK YOU AND GOODBYE!!! R.I.P. TFSB 2004-2008
well, the fire still burns is no longer a band as of today November 5, 2008. it has been a long, fun, and awesome run, and we had a great time over the years. unfortunately, as sometimes happens when people lead busy lives, time becomes an issue and we can no longer make the band happen the way it should. there is no bad blood, there is no "drama", and there are no hard feelings. the plain truth is that we are 5 guys going in 5 directions- and each one doing a million different bands and projects and things in their personal lives that make it impossible for us to continue to be a band anymore. it's all good. we will live on.
so, with that being said, we will continue to monitor this page and log in occasionally- and stay tuned for a few bulletins about what the 5 of us have cooking on the side. we are all working on other music projects and you will hear about them shortly.
also, we really want to send out a huge and sincere THANK YOU to all of you who have supported us over these last 4 years. we love you all!! thank you so much to everyone who ever came to a show, sent us a letter, gave us kind words in person and in emails, and who supported us by buying merch and telling your friends about us. we had a great run, made a lot of awesome new friends, and had a total fucking blast the entire time.
so, we will leave up all 3 of the "2008 DEMO" tracks for free download. take them and enjoy, they were the last 3 recorded songs we did. we still also have a decent amount of t-shirts, hoodies, and hats still available to purchase, so if you ever wanted any TFSB merch now is the time to get it before its all gone! check out the link below to the webstore if you are interested.....
we will also keep this page up as a "tribute" to the band, so if you have anything to say please leave it in comment form so everyone can see it.
thanks again to all of you!!! it is a sad day for all of us, but one in which all we knew was coming.

who were we?
basically- we were a bunch of guys that have been involved in the NJ punk scene for quite a while, and we started THE FIRE STILL BURNS because we still have the same passion and spirit that we did in our early days, and we wanted to contibute something fun and meaningful into today's scene as a way to give back to the community that has given us so many fun times and great friends...we run this band page ourselves, and we see your messages and comments daily and are constantly touched and inspired by your words... thank you to anyone who ever supported us in the past, and to anyone who still believes in the tunes in the present. if you want to know more, you can read the band bio and other stuff we have in our blog, etc.
In celebration of tomorrow (Monday) night's reunion set, we've uploaded the out-of-print (nearly--check around) song by The Fire Still Burns from their debut 7-inch. Gutted!!!! Very sad, I just burned a TFSB CDr for the car and have been listening to it for the last several days. I feel privileged I got to see you guys play live. take care si

Alf, Scott, Nate, Ross, Brent... We salute you. Pure post-punk for 4-years is something to stand proud of. Hell, someone had to do it and not many would sound more true than the 5 of you.
