The Fishermen are a group that has seen, and done it all. Having coursed through the music scenes of Los Angeles and Washington DC- the fish have bred a loyal army of fans on both coasts, and in Austin -the bands new home. Fishermen shows are stuffed with tight knit communities of loyal followers, ragtag misfits, and music lovers alike. from the sweet songs of loves lost- to funked out rock raggae licks that carry beats that make you tap your feet- the Fishermen continue to create, and move to the beat of their own drums. Harmonies blended with soulful bass lines, thick djembe laid ontop of complicated drum beats, and an eclectic mixture of genres-and varying subject matter. the music the band makes is a collaboration of 3 minds. Cam Holley lays the groundwork that singers/songwriters Lindsay and Phillip Hough bring to the table material wise. In the grand tradition of the Band, the Fishermen have hosted some of the best players in the business, and have shared the stage with many incredible bands like Allrise, Pseudopod, Maroon 5, Honor by August, Willie Strings and the players, the Charlie Daniels Band, and John Popper of Blues Traveller to name a few. The band plans to release their new album "Invisible Thickness Vol II" in January of 2009. This album will be the sequel to the first released in 2004, with hopes that it will be as popular as the beginning of the series. So far the Fishermen band has had great success, and are fueled by a unique flood of support from their incredible fan base. true inspiration comes from knowing people believe in you and love the music you make-and this band has no shortage of that. You can see it, and feel it at every Fishermen show. For now, the band is bent ..ing and releasing their new album, but do not be surprised if you see them playing in a city near you soon!
