Influences
The Five Boroughs pride themselves on keeping group harmony alive and exciting in south Florida. They have often had the pleasure of performing with, and often backing up their influences such as The Penguins, The Moonglows, The Drifters, The Dubs, Pookie Hudson and The Spaniels, The Cleftones and countless other great harmony groups of the 50's and 60's.
When you think of group harmony or DooWop as it is more commonly known, you have to include The Five Boroughs!!

The Five Boroughs are a truly unique contemporary doowop group. If you look at today's doowop groups, you usually have original doowop groups performing under their original names with a few of their original members. Or you have new groups of singers who were not around in the original days of doowop but who perform the music nonetheless. The Five Boroughs, on the other hand, are a new group comprised of original members of great doowop groups…a terrific blending of some of the best doowop talent from the five boroughs of New York (thus the name).
