This was written upon hearing "how you do it" .....
"From the moment the song opens, memories of strolling along Brighton pier in the summer are blasted into the minds of the unsuspecting listener as he is taken on a psychedelic journey through the minds of Leicester based band The Flamonics. The new single Named ‘How you do it’ brings a 60’s vibe back to the rough and ready landscape of comedy rock. With strong vocals taking on a punk style, bright keyboard, funky guitar and a strong beat that will make you want to get up and jitter your bug, this song is sure to be a hit with audiences who will bear witness to its happy go lucky charm in the future."
"The Flamonics entered the ring with an electrified Ukulele, a keyboard and a drummer. If your thought upbeat Indie had to be about getting drunk or losing your girlfriend, you were wrong. George Formby’s ghost rises, smokes some crack and enters the souls of these musical geniuses. With superb songs and amusing banter between, this was a sure hit with the crowd."
"The Flamonics are three lovable nutters with distinctly different characters. Dressed in black fedoras, the Flamonics looked decidedly '20s and gave us a set of entertaining numbers laced with a good dose of jovial banter. A theatrical group with considerable charm, their unique act is always great fun, which they exude throughout their performance and this draws the audience into their show." - Written as a review of a recent gig
"The Flamonics put on a funny and lively set, combining well delivered songs with their map cap sense of humour.
The three lovable loonies gave us a set that was musically very polished; but which included three changes of costume on stage, ending up with them in their pajamas.
Lead singer George played the Ukulele and pumped out a series of highly engaging songs, supported by Tom ..boards and vocals and Nick on the drums. Very humorous, highly entertaining but also technically very proficient, The Flamonics are a true music comedy act of ever increasing quality." - Another recent gig review
"genuinely like it!! Don't say that about too much stuff I hear these days!! well done." - Dave Andrews - BBC Radio Leicester presenter
"Absolutly contempory to everything else out there...Really Really light and refreshing...There gonna be huge in 2009 I guarantee you that!" - Markey Malarkey - 103 The Eye radio presenter
Formed in October 2008, really quickly, the three band members met just the month before, whilst studying performing arts at college. They decided to put their instruments together and liked what came out. Within the space of three weeks they had written a full set of orignal songs and started gigging. They went out with the intention to entertain at gigs, because they knew they could, with a strong performance background. Influences are derived just from general people, funny people, actors, musical theatre actors, composers and son on. Next year, the band hopes to carry on having as much fun making the music and playing gigs and entertaining as many people as they can hopefully in increasingly bigger and better venues.
One of the best comedy bands around
