Formed in Israel in the year 2000 by founding members, Geva Alon, Gadi Altman, Reshef Shahar & Shacham Ohana. Recorded their debut album in the same year but never released it. After 10 monthes of the band's existace, Shacham Ohana left the group and it bacame a power trio with Gadi taking the bass. After almost 2 years of living and touring in the united states, THE FLYING BABY came back to Israel and made it's first release with the album INNER WORLD in 2003, which recieved great reviews from the Israeli media and started picking it's following, mainly in Tel Aviv.
2 years later, THE FLYING BABY, is now a well known name in the Israeli rock scene. In 2005 PAIN TO GIVE was released and put the band in a new status in every aspect. Earlier that year, drummer Reshef Shahar left the band and was replaced by Guy Shechter which was replaced himself by Issar Tennenbaum only 6 monthes later.
With packed shows all over the country, the band hooked up with American, Rock singer/songwriter, Peter Himmelman and made a joined Israel/U.S tour.
Although the band hasn't been active for the past 2 years it is still alive and will hopefully come back to the stages sooner than later. THE FLYING BABY is one of the leading names among the English singing groups, ever to come out of Israel.
Looking forward to the gig, for once I've timed my trip to Israel perfectly and will (hopefully, if I manage to get a ticket) be able to catch some great music!! Excellent news :)
