Warm testimony of slowness, The Folding and the point creates a permeable and discreet music where a landscape of electronic and acoustic sounds experiment its period of time, with small changes, accidents and glimpses of potential perspectives.
The Folding and the point is the solo project of the Envelope Collective founder Olivier Arson. From 2000, he takes part to the IDM movement in Iceland where he collaborates with many musicians and gives his first shows, opening for múm. Relocated to Madrid, his music now focus from a distant point of view of the personal experience.
Live, The Folding and the point situates half-way between the sound installation and the show, where textures emanate from walkmans and contact microphones, while live bass and guitar are played on the beats and loops activated through samplers.
"The Folding and the point creates both crystal clear and warm atmospheres, a music based on a new form of use of the guitar which, along clicks & glitches, as if they were cooking instruments, and floating bass, makes you feel like sitting on a cloud. Music to accompany you through a significant journey." Miguel Marin (Árbol, ex-Piano Magic)
