Having been friends for years, their love and respect for good music and a decent night out, it was inevitable that they would form a band. The band are Jon Farrell, singer songwriter, Gaz White, Lead Guitarist, Joe Caldwell, Rhythm Guitar, Andy “Noddy” Holder, bass and John Gaunt on drums.
The Forge, formed in 2006 and from Warrington, a rugged town nestled between the Northwest’s Music capitals, Liverpool and Manchester. The Forge have discovered a knack for writing and creating music that is not only original and relevant but also spans genres and styles. It is hard to place the Forge in a certain category; all that can be said is that their sound is varied and unique. They pull their influences from the 60s through to the many talented bands of today.
Is this the year that people sit up and finally take notice of the Forge? They are emerging as a real talent in the Northwest, having played at some of the biggest and best venues the area has to offer, supporting the Clone Roses at The Parr Hall, Warrington, playing the Cavern twice and steadily becoming a regular on the Manchester music scene, having played the Roadhouse, the Ruby Lounge and Manchester Academy to name a few. With a growing number of songs and a strong demo they are perfectly set to take the Country by storm. 2009 promises to be the year that the Forge take that step towards greatness and unleash their music on the masses, with several gigs lined up in impressive places as well as a few days in the studio lined up, hopefully the Forge will be snatched from obscurity.
.
It will be no surprise when we arrive!
