Formed in 2002 but stationed in different parts of the country on and off until summer 2005 we are now starting to play the volume of shows we always wanted to. We like to listen to the bands listed above and then go and make our own songs as distincitve as possible. We have developed a sound which we are taking on the road where memorable vocal melodies and harmonies sing of small town loves, memories, paranoia and future prophecies. Added to this are big, emotive guitar sounds which circle the songs around obsessively, powerful drums and uniquely melodic driving bass lines
In the past we have played the famous In the City Unsigned in Manchester 2003, Generator’s Take Note unsigned showcase in Kendal in 2004, have had songs released on Glasgow label Rock-Art! Records’ first compilation as well as local webzine Motive Sounds CD collection of Cumbrian bands in 2004. We have also received radio airplay on Durham and Warwick Uni radio as well as Cumbria station CFM.
Either follow the links above or search "Ever Since The Lake Caught Fire" on iTunes. The song has been played recently by Steve Lamacq on Radio 1 & Tom Robinson on BBC 6 Music.
"Produced by ¡Forward, Russia!'s Tom Woodhead, debut single A Fire Born In Dallas (released on the Pay For The Piano imprint) finds post-hardcore and prog influences welded together to create a sound that is both vulnerable and self-assured. Admittedly, the usual influences of Fugazi and At The Drive-In are worn pretty obviously, but the band are far more than mere copyists.
Ever Since The Lake Caught Fire, it would seem, have more than enough firepower in their sonic arsenal to kick some of the music world's feted young pretenders into touch. " The Metro
