The Formative Years was founded by singer-songwriter, Adam Burke. The band recorded two EP's during 2006-2007 and acheived airplay in the USA as well as in the UK.
Their first release, "Radio 55", catapulted the band on a US-based radio station (QVO Rocks), and this had kick-started Adam to write lots more material - song's included: "I Knew You Would"; "Feel"; "Light In My Soul"; "Girl"; and the band's most popular of all - "Questions & Answers", also known as "Q+A".
After the loss of Guitarist, Anthony Halliwell and Bassist, Mike Reed.. Adam and Drummer, Mike Wilde, wrote/recorded a mini EP titled, "Summer Farewell".
Sometime later, Mike roped in ex-band mate, Mark Watson to play Bass, and they also signed up Guitarist, Ian Armstrong. The new line-up rehearsed their BALLS OFF and this led to a successful mini-tour of Manchester and Liverpool.
During their mini-tour, the lads recorded with famous Liverpool musician, Billy Kinsley, and their track - "Lazy" was released to the world!!
After three EP releases containing memorable tracks such as "Q+A", "Don't Let Go", "Lazy", "Oxygen" and many more, THE FORMATIVE YEARS hope to bring you lots more tunes from Adam Burke's song-factory! For more information about the band check out www.theformativeyears.co.uk !
