Sometimes floating hysterically sometimes flavoured with a touch of melancholy, but always brutally honest and absolutely uncompromising... ....“England has the Arctic Monkeys, America has The Strokes, Germany has The Fountains.” .... ..The band proves that this is more than just a claim by the press at every of their smashing live shows. Recht so. Denn die vier Tracks „Jerry“, „Come On Over“, „Slow“ und „Runnin“ setzen souverän ein Häkchen in jede gängige Box, ohne dass das große Ganze zur schnöden Kopie wird: ein bisschen Strokes-Lässigkeit, ein bisschen Killers-Pathos-Keule, aber eben auch eine ordentliche Kelle The-Fountains-Frische. Passend zu ihren dicken Bässen und Oberlippenbärtchen gibt’s noch rappelige Beats und drei hausgemachte Remixe der befreundeten Frickler Fricke und Toenit – und die beweisen, dass The Fountains auch auf der Tanzfläche funktionieren. Arbeitserfahrung in Sachen Touren sammelte die Band um Christian Köhnlein bisher als Support für Slut, Fotos und Chikinki – und das könnte tatsächlich erst der Anfang gewesen sein.
