Four Left Turns started by Trevor Pulver and Justin Whitehead in 2005 under the name Trevor & the Pulverizers. What began as two friends jamming on mandolin and guitar evolved into writing original songs, the first being "International House of Heartaches."
Justin eventually gravitated to the bass, and it was around that time that Katie Lewis started singing and writing songs with the group. Matt Fraser joined the band soon after on percussion. It was at this time the band's sound started to fuse. When Katie and Matt joined the group the name was changed to The Four Left Turns.
During the recording of the first official demo, Matt transitioned from hand percussion to the drum set. The music shifted along with this transition. The Turns' sound become more rock and improvisationally influenced, while keeping a strong emphasis on song writing and harmonies.
In June of 2008, Katie departed Dallas for the Northeast, leaving the Turns to continue on as a trio. The band has dropped the "The" and now goes by Four Left Turns. Their sound has evolved further combining elements of country, bluegrass, rock, funk, and improvisation.
Four Left Turns is actively gigging in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area with plans to add state wide shows to the schedule. Come on out to a show and see what Four Left Turns is all about.
