The Fragments like Syd Barrett but don't sound like him. They like west coast, east coast and ambient Nordic goddess music but sound more like The Fragments.
The Fragments, four guys and a 100 year old house. Damian Press, Piers Twomey, Christos Kollias and Fraser Smith spend large amounts of time there. This is Damian's pad in a suburb of Sydney's rundown, uptown, culturally diverse inner west neighbourhood.
Spirits can only travel so far. Lost souls visit the house uninvited. Why do they come Dimi? Why? At night, and only then, will the house call out.
While Damian lives in the house, the band rehearse and record there. They share the place with its soul captain and full time studio assistant, Ginsberg the sturdy tomcat.The house brought the band together. Damian and Piers were initially writing music there. Christos came to record there with another group, joined the band and now lives there. Fraser came to record there with another...let's just say that history has a way of repeating itself in the joyous and sirenesque world of The Fragments.
.....and well we're excited to announce we'll be releasing our debut album mid 2006. Things kick off in November this 2005 with a preview radio single going out called "Merry Xmas 1984." - A bit of Orwellian perspective when you need it most, listen out for it!!

Love the bass lines & beats, like in the verses of False Alarms. The vox 2 – luv the harmonies. Esp in Light On. Beautiful sound with the guitar. This track is superb, my fave I think. Though Never Left Alone is pretty hypnotic 2.
Im intrigued by ur hundred yr old house btw… as a bit of a lost soul mself, a nomadic house guest who somehow becomes a member of several homes in each pocket of sydney, and as an inner west fan in particular, I find it fascinating. Not 2 mention the fact that Ginsberg sounds like a truly reliable and respectable master of the pad…
