Check out the wonderful article Jared wrote about us here!
The Free Boutique is accepting clothing donations Monday through Friday 9am to 9pm!
Please leave donations behind the counter or with a volunteer. A gentle reminder: We do not accept sports clothes, pajamas, under garments, or household items. But, we do gratefully accept your lovely cast-off fashions so that they may live another life in the fashion karmic wheel. It's recycling... see?
And remember, you can shop any 'ol time the gallery is open, whether or not a Free Boutique volunteer is present. Just have a good shop, tidy up after yourself, and be on your merry way!
The Free Boutique is located at 2516 East Colfax in the Denver Art Gallery (next to the Tattered Cover). We provide high-end, fashion-forward, expensive-looking FREE clothes to the general public, ie: you! We also host glamorous free clothes events involving runway shows, variety shows, alteration/donation parties and so much more.
Essentially, the Free Boutique is a fabulous way that we can come together and promote a gift economy right here and now!
For the most part, the Free Boutique gets by with volunteer support, love and spit but we also need to pay rent, maintain our space and buy alteration supplies. Furthermore, eventually we would like to open a Free Boutique/ Tea Shop in central Denver and for that we can use all the help we can get! So please please... gimmie ten dollars!
Hey Kate and Adam! I sent out a mass email to the friends of the Collective asking for the most fabulous in clothing...to be picked up by the 26th. Hope that helps!
Hi Adam and everyone at ze wondrous Free Boutique! My friends from Seattle are playing in Denver Friday at Kazmos, and Monday at Rhino. Hope you meet them!
Shoulda taken the many offers for my outfit and sold every piece in the black market...that wold kinda defeat the purpose huh? I guess "FREE" is the key word here.
