The Free Wheels play straight-ahead, no frills rock n' roll. We wanted to form a band that gets to the point. That's open and honest. And that's timeless in the sense that a good song never grows old. And so we asked ourselves the one question every young band should ask:
If Lou Reed were 40 years younger, from the midwest, and not so into leather would he want to join our band?
We hope so. In 2007, we added guitarist Tom Lynch and put the finishing touches on a live set that's been tested in clubs all over Chicago from the Beat Kitchen to the Elbo Room to Wise Fool's Pub, etc.
In 2008 we hope to put out our first full length album.
