Singer Benjamin Jones mixes the gothic vibrato of Dead Science's Sam Mickens with over-the-top swooning à la Morissey, but fixes the effect without the snobbery. This is topped with music that manages to be both raw and elegant, modern and near-Gregorian. "Twin Cities band The Funeral And The Twilight hangs its love of Morrissey and Joy Division right out there in the open, at least when it comes to singer Benjamin Jones, who goes for Moz's preciously peeved melodic edge but tempers it with Ian Curtis' creepy rawness. It probably helps that he finds his own mix instead of trying to outright ape either influence, and the band's music is a similarly turbulent brew, blending the feistiness of old-school post-punk and plenty of agreeably morbid, unstable moods."

"The Funeral and The Twilight are more my style, infusing a post-punk sound with heavy dollops of American Gothic, the vocals snaking through the songs, snarling and shrieking in places, telling tales of despair, society..well, life really. The vocals bring to mind the late Jeffrey Lee Pierce of Gun Club fame and Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds as does the music, a howling swampy brew best served with the moonshine of your choice. The two tracks on Bullets 8 are the rocking Down By the Sea and the (deceptably- till the howling starts ;-p) mellower I Have Returned To You."

we began in 2002 while blowing things up and flying in Helicopters. in 2003 lodar played drums. we did it in southern california. in 2004 we played a lot of shows, from hollywood to san diego. in 2005 we did the same thing but with some extra noise thanks to pat rose. at the end of the summer of 2006 we moved to colorado. we have been playing shows and recording and sleeping.
and now in the summer of 2007 nate went home and brandon makes drum stuff. we lay our sleepy heads in minneapolis right now. we hope to find you one day and finally get you.
