"This double a sided single from the London based six piece is like a breath of fresh air. Greetings from Bucarest & Roma(ita) - Gung HoDown2 years ago
Hello Gadjo Club! Tried messaging you but wasnt able. I was wondering whether you would be free for a gig at Hootananny's on the 27th August? We are billing it as a Notting Hill Carnival Special and already have a line up of Folie Ordinaire, Shama Rahman and DJ Boom Monk Ben from Ninja Tunes. Just to tell you about the night a bit more: Its called The Gung Ho Down (a gung ho attitude to a hoe down) Its a free live band showcase and we always get it packed out (1000 capacity). It is curated in a way that fans of the bands intermingle so everyone comes away with more followers than they come in with. It is also a night designed for interaction between the audience and the band so seeing as its free, a hat is passed around after each act and the audience are given the choice to show their appreciation straight to the band. So the money goes straight to the band as the night is run for artists by artists like a social entrepreneurship. The idea is to build a network of artists and we have put on events for the last 3 years at Hootananny's, Mau Mau, Rich Mix and most recently London Southbank and if you get on our books we repeatedly put you on our nights and also distribute your music online (small fee) to our following. We also encourage collaboration between the bands/musicians and are in the process of getting rehearsal space to allow that to happen.
All that being said hope you can join and play with us on August 27th? Bank Holiday Sat. Much love The Gung Ho Down X - Jeanne MCdanIel2 years ago
