Thank you for taking the time to learn a little more about the Galaxy Big Band.
Since forming in 1999, the Galaxy Big Band has surged onto the big band scene attracting some of the most accomplished musicians in East Anglia to comprise its 18 piece line-up of saxophones, brass and rhythm. The entertaining and talented Roger Chinery leads the Band as well as playing some excellent trumpet solos.
Treading in the footsteps of the great big bands of the 1940s, the Galaxy Big Band has established an enviable reputation for swing music, jive and jazz. The Band has a solid and stable membership of 17 members, plus its accomplished resident vocalist, Val Sinclair, who has been with the band since July 2004. For most events Val is joined by the very stylish big-band singer Martin Leigh. Great pride is taken in working with clients in order to create the right atmosphere of elegance and fun for every occasion and to give the audience a thoroughly good time!
In 2007 the band finally recorded it's first CD - Our Favourite Things.
Hi Galaxy, so good to see you up here. Well done! You are all so talented - great sounds, love the little gigs we've done together - hope to see you all soon. x
