The Garden Sessions Festival and CD has given an opportunity to aspiring local musicians to play alongside successful well-known artists. The sold-out event demonstrated support for Hospice care in the area and around the country.
Hospice care is the total care of patient and family at that stage of serious illness when the focus has shifted from treatment aimed at cure to ensuring quality of life. It seeks to relieve the physical symptoms of illness while equally addressing the persons emotional, psychosocial and spiritual needs.

HISTORY
In the spring of 2004, Caelan and Clodagh were tossing around ideas about hosting a Charity music festival that would bring some of the best new irish music to the Birr area. Primarily, it would benefit Offaly hospice, the local branch of a national charity close to the hearts of many people. Over a few evenings, local and visiting, upcoming and established artists would generously donate their performances at these Garden Sessions.
The 2004 Garden Sessions were a huge success and as the 2005 lineup developed, the team decided to create the Garden Sessions compilation recorded alongside the festival and here it is.
